4 Tips for Integrating Your Laundry Room into Your Home’s Kitchen

Depending on the size of your kitchen, you could upgrade it in ways you never thought possible before.

Depending on the size of your kitchen, you could upgrade it in ways you never thought possible before. For instance, in some rental properties, they will not allow you to have washer-dryer hookups; instead, you will be obligated to use communal laundry rooms where you have to pay a small fee to run your laundry. On the other hand, other rental properties hide the washer-dryer combo in a cunning way – as an alcove in the kitchen!

Put the Machines Under the Counter

One of the perks of homeownership is that you can make improvements as you see fit. By now, you’re probably so used to seeing the dishwasher mounted under the counter that you take it for granted. But did you know that you can sneak the laundry machines under the counter as well? The washer and dryer can sit beside each other, concealed by colorful aluminum doors.

Incorporate Them Into the U-Layout

Kitchen layouts take different shapes and sizes. One of the most notable is known as the U-layout. Try putting your laundry machines at the bottom of this U; that way, they can be positioned under the windows and you’ll have more natural light to work with as you fold clothes or towels.

Stack Them Together

Another common configuration is to stack the washers and dryers together. This is especially helpful if floor space is at a premium. It’s also a simple way to make the laundry room more accessible instead of having them at the top of the main staircase or tucked away in the basement.

Create a Hidden Room

What’s on your ultimate wish list for home design? Suppose you’ve always wanted a hidden room activated by a trick book? Hidden inside would be a private library filled with comfy furniture and knickknacks themed around one of your favorite hobbies. Well, that dream can come true – sort of. Seamless doors installed by architects or home remodeling experts can help create a hidden room for you, but instead of a hideaway, you’ve got more space to set up your laundry room!
